چکیده

In the District of Abidjan, flooding typically occurs suddenly during intense rainfall events. The individual event provides basic element for study. Its analysis is required to develop solutions managing impact extreme occurrences. Our study proposes identify events that occurred in Abidjan from a densified network and analyze some their characteristics related amount they provided, duration, level intensity. A total 1240 were identified between 2018 2021 using 21 rain gauges. Rainfall based on criteria such as minimum inter-event time without 30 min, detection threshold 0.02 mm/5 duration min applicable average hyetograph, 1 mm at least one gauge. accumulation, intensity, showed essentially convective, with an more than 2 h 11.30 mm/event. For 70% mixed nature, convective episodes last up 33.33% produce 80% cumulative rainfall. 30-min peak intensities generally occur first half event. Less 13.5% have peaks greater 50 mm/h. probability observing two, three, or four per day high June October, core two rainy seasons.

Effect of rain gauge density over the accuracy of rainfall: a case study over Bangalore, India

Rainfall is an extremely variable parameter in both space and time. Rain gauge density is very crucial in order to quantify the rainfall amount over a region. The level of rainfall accuracy is highly dependent on density and distribution of rain gauge stations over a region. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have installed a number of Automatic Weather Station (AWS) rain gauges over Ind...

A TRMM-Calibrated infrared technique for rainfall estimation: Application on rain events over eastern Mediterranean

The aim is to evaluate the use of a satellite infrared (IR) technique for estimating rainfall over the eastern Mediterranean. The Convective-Stratiform Technique (CST), calibrated by coincident, physically retrieved rain rates from the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Precipitation Radar (PR), is applied over the Eastern Mediterranean for four rain events during the six month period o...
